1 year of slacklining!!!

The first time I laid my eyes on a slackline I was sixteen year of age. I was attending a outdoor educational high school in Scio OR. I had absolutely no clue what it was, at first I was under the impression that it was made for many students to sit on. I ended up graduating from that school after eight months and during my schooling there I only manged eight very sloppy steps. Looking back on those eight short months I had come to realize that I was not interested in slacklining what so ever. The next time I saw a slackline was in March 2008 when myself and two friends (Jeremy Louis and Lukas Questenberg) decided to buy one. We set it up almost every day for a few weeks before I made up my mind to hitchhike around the western United States. From the moment I left my two friends I knew slacklining was not for me. After I got done hitch hiking I went to college (Prescott College) in Prescott AZ. It was not till the end of my fist year at Prescott College that I ran into a slackline again, I perused slacklining for the next few weeks but still not putting my full mind and body into it. When the school year ended I parted ways with slacklining for what I thought was the last time. I ended up dating a girl I went to high school with (Anna Evoy). During my stay in her home town of Bend OR we meet up with two kids from Salt Lake City UT (Ben Gentry & Adam). It seemed as though they lived for slacklining. I rigged and walk few lines with them before I decided it was time to take slacklining for a passion and not just something I would see and try every once in a while. After a long session with Ben and Adam, with what little money I had I ordered some pulleys from Slackline Brothers, and borrowed with out asking a 150' static rope from an outdoor store. It was one year to this day that I knew for sure that slacklining was going to become my life. From that point life was a world revolving around SLACKLINIG!!! I cant get enough of it, eat, sleep and slackline is a mantra that I live everyday. If I'm not slacklining, I'm thinking about it.

I will use this blog to write about where I take slacklining and where slacklining will take me. I will write about trips I take and thoughts I think, along with photographed documentation of the trips.
